Small Earthquake Felt in OKC

A very small earthquake was felt by many people in the Oklahoma City area late Monday night. The Oklahoma Geological Survey Observatory reported the shaker to be 2.7 on the Richter Scale, hardly anything to get excited about.

Why then, am I posting this to my blog? Because it was OKLAHOMA in which the earthquake was felt. Not exactly a hotbed of seismic activity.

Earthquakes are unnerving. My friends in Taiwan reported feeling the 6.0 that hit this week. Now THAT'S an earthquake!

It is a very strange sensation. I've been in earthquake simulators before, but they just don't feel like anything I have ever experienced. I was in several when I lived in Los Angeles back in the 80's, and we felt a few when we lived in Chiang Mai, Thailand. Emily even felt the December 26th quake that created the Asian Tsunami that killed hundreds of thousands. That one even made ponds in Oklahoma move back and forth!

Personally, I've never felt an earthquake in Oklahoma; and that is JUST FINE WITH ME!

I'm sure the ground moving has something to do with OU football in some form or fashion...
