About

Welcome to RickBoyne.com!

The most important thing you can know about me is that I follow Jesus Christ. Some people call that being a Christian, but I think it is more than just a label; it is a lifestyle.

Following Jesus is quite an adventure. He brought me out of death into life. Eternal life, in fact. When I was 8 years old, in Sapulpa, OK, I trusted Jesus to save me from the penalty of my sin. My spirit was re-born.

Jesus is with me always. He doesn't get mad at me and leave me. He doesn't get bored with me. He doesn't forget that I'm here. Jesus is God's son; fully man and fully God. It's a hard thing to get your mind around, but then, you don't have to understand it all.

Following Jesus led me to meet my wife, Sally. He has blessed us with two beautiful daughters, Audrey and Emily. Following Jesus is everything to me.

So, what about me. Who is Rick Boyne?

I am many things.  I am a regular feature writer for a magazine and have finished writing my first novel.

I enjoy target shooting, digital photography, numismatics, paper money collecting, traveling, and fishing.. I have lived in Los Angeles, New York City, Hong Kong, as well as in Thailand, Guinea, Senegal, and the Ivory Coast. I helped start New Hope Baptist Church in Kowloon, Hong Kong back in 1989-90. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a degree in psychology. I attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary working toward a Masters of Divinity.

I love to see lives transformed by the redeeming love of Jesus Christ. I love to see godly people do godly things. I love to see forgiveness in action. I love to sing to and about my God. I'd give my right arm if I hadn't dropped out of piano lessons when I was a kid. I wish I could paint more than just the outside of a house.

I have finished writing my first novel.  The pre-publication name is "Jackpot!"  It is about a self-absorbed man who wins the lottery only to find himself morally bankrupt.  It is a story of greed, lust, revenge, and redemption.  I am currently looking for representation; if you are interested, please drop me a line!

In October 2010, I began working on my second novel.  It is about a woman who is unexpected given the ability to see beyond the physical dimension into the spiritual realm.  But is this new ability a blessing or a curse? "New Sight" is the working title of my first thriller.

I love to laugh and spend time with friends and family. I am a Facebook-aholic.

Well, that is about it. If you have any questions, ask away....
