Twelve Drummers Drumming
The twelve drummers represent the 12 points of doctrine in the Apostle's Creed:
- I believe in God, the father almighty, creator of Heaven and Earth.
- I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.
- He was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary.
- He suffered under Pontious Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried. He descended into the grave.
- On the third day, He rose again. He ascended into Heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
- He will come again to judge the living and the dead.
- I believe in the Holy Spirit,
- the holy catholic (universal) Church,
- the communion of saints,
- the forgiveness of sins,
- the resurrection of the body,
- and eternal life.

So, I just realized, that is now a song. I just can't remember by whom.
Can you explain #8 to me. The word "catholic" threw me for a loop.
I think the song was originally done by Rich Mullins and later released in as a live song by Third Day.

I have enjoyed this series. Is all this true? I expected the 12 tribes of Israel for the last one.

The word catholic means "UNIVERSAL". So, when we speak of the "c"atholic church, we are talking about the world wide church of God. When you speak of the "C"atholic Church, you are speaking of the particular denomination that we all think of when we hear Catholic Church. Jason is right; Rich Mullins turned it into a great song.
