Obama's Inauguration Gala Costs Expected to Break Records

The price tag for President-elect Barack Obama's inauguration gala is expected to break records, with some estimates reaching as high as $150 million. Despite the bleak economy, however, Democrats who called on President George W. Bush to be frugal four years ago are issuing no such demands now that an inaugural weekend of rock concerts and star-studded parties has begun.

I was wondering the same thing. Four years ago there were calls to be frugal and now the economy is much worse and Obama is breaking records spending money.

My question is for Mr. O. "If you are so concerned about the economy and the poor, etc why in the world did you not tell your Dem associates 'no special inauguration plans. Any singers come at their own cost. Money is to be given to the poor, HIV?AIDS/ ministries, etc.'" Sure would be interested in hearing his answer. Have to admit this about made me gag.

Well, I'm glad to know that others feel this way, too! It is pretty disgusting and hypocritical. I'm afraid that we are in for "Politics as usual". :-(
