Did you believe Hillary?

I watched Hillary last night at the DNC. I didn't believe her. (Then again, I never have.) I think it took every bit of her personal fortitude to endorse Obama.

I like McCain's new ad. It is a sound bite of her saying that "John McCain has the experience needed for the White House; Obama doesn't."

I sure wish we had a better choice.

Almost.

If you believe the Bible about who appoints our leaders, you won't get near as uptight about our current options...

Hi Steve,

I know who appoints them. That doesn't necessarily make them a good leader. (King Saul, King Asa, etc) I just hope this isn't a chastening of America with either candidate.

Well, if the fire didn't fall after 8 years of slick Willy, I think it's a pretty sure thing that the One in control is pretty 'long suffering'.

Biblically speaking, it seems pretty inevitable that America is going to become less influential on the world scene than it currently is. I know it's hard to believe that America is not God's 'chosen nation' by many who don't acknowledge that America is no longer a 'Christian' nation but rather a post-Christian nation.

However, I believe the Bible to be literally true, prophecy to be 100% accurate, and I just don't see how America can NOT be destined to be lowered a few notches before the whole thing comes to an end...

Who's to say Obama isn't God's man for the job - he seems qualified. (The job of lowering America a few notches that is!)

So, Steve, if Obama is the right man to lower the nation a level or two, then are you saying it is a believers role to help that along?

And, since you take the Bible "literally", what part of the Scripture talks about America? I don't remember seeing that reference?

@ m. steve heartsill -
No, I'm not saying that at all. What I've been saying is that this whole thing is in HIS hands and our concern and anxiety is not necessary. We still need to live out our faith and convictions in every aspect of our lives!

No mention of America in prophesy is EXACTLY my point! How could America dominate the world scene in power and influence and be 'God's Chosen Nation' yet not be mentioned in end-time prophecy? Unless we are due to be lowered a few notches and therefore no longer a relevant influence on the world scene...
