Silver Dollar City

No trip to Branson would be complete without a trip to Silver Dollar City. This time, we all got put in the pokey.

In 1969 SDC closed one week so the Beverly Hillbillies show could be taped. On Saturday, the cast and crew had a party, and I was in the band that provided the entertainment. We set up at 9 am, and the park then opened for a private party; only about 1,000 people in the park. I rode into the Flooded Mine ride, and hopped off the boat, and stood with the robots for about 15 minutes. I don't think anyone noticed. Love SDC, then and now!

I have been in that exact window. I don't think I could find the picture, but I am sure my mom has it somewhere.

Do they still have the slanty shanty?
