Cleaned up good enough to eat lunch on!

Getting rid of the mud.

Cleanup status

Well, things are moving along. We now have electricity to all floors, city water is available to the building, we have two telephone lines open, and we have begun to remove the nasty, muddy carpet. We have a problems with our air conditioners (which were underwater), our PBX is wasted, and it is quite likely that our main server is fried.

Today, I expect to have all the carpet removed and the mud cleaned out, the water restored, and some, if not all of the A/C units restored. More pictures to follow at the end of the day.

Getting the new water pump ready to install.

Getting the carpet out of the library.

The cleanup begins.

poor banana trees

the running water that tore down the wall, even uncovered the buried water lines.

Water got in the store rooms, too.

Muddy water.

Mud on the floor

The Cleanup has begun

Well, the water has gone, the mud is left, and the cleanup has begun. There is about 3/4 inch of mud all over the floor. When I left the building yesterday, there was no city water & no electricity to the building. Our maintenance man said he was almost ready to reconnect the power, but who knows when the water will come back on.

We have a company coming this morning to start cleaning out the mud. Our man will begin checking the A/C units that were under-water. He thinks most of them will probably be OK. It will probably begin to smell bad today. One of the first orders of business will be to pull out the nasty, mud-soaked carpet.
