I've heard many Christians say that America is insignificant or plays no role in end times and the return of Jesus Christ. To that, I honestly have no opinion.
However, it is assumed that America will suffer in the Great Tribulation. Where does that assumption come from?
Those critical of America's potential involvement in the end times emphasize the fact that the Bible talks about places only in the Middle East and America is irrelevant. If these events only happen in the Middle East, does the persecution from the Great Tribulation only effect those in the Middle East?
Why or why not?
Side note: The Christians in Iraq seem to be facing exactly the scenario that is
fixed in most people's minds about what the Great Tribulation will look
like.
