8-8-08


An auspicious date for Chinese. The number 8 (in Chinese) sounds like the word for "luck" (in Chinese). So, anything having to do with the number 8 is very lucky.

That is why they chose to begin the Olympics today in Beijing.

China thinks it's lucky. Anyone who disagrees with them, however, will find that their luck has run out.

    I'm not a huge fan of China hosting the Olympic Games...with their history toward human rights, I've got a problem with that!

    Hello Rick, you don't know me but this topic peaked an interest. The first house we ever owned was 888 Burnside Avenue. That doesn't mean anything to anyone but me, but we were sure blessed at that house. I had my only two children there. selahV
